If you’re planning a trip to the Northern Territory, why not try your hand at a little offshore fishing? There is nothing easy about offshore fishing. Offshore Fishing Darwin Fishing Adventures

Offshore fishing is one of the most exciting and challenging part of salt water fishing. Offshore fishing is a complete slugfest with some of the biggest inhabitants of the water, some of which can weigh upwards of 500 Kg. These huge fish don’t only fight it till the end; they are also quite clever in detecting baits that can end their existence. The major challenge in offshore fishing lies in selecting the right bait and angling in the right location.

The major attractions of offshore fishing are certainly the Blue Marlins. These creatures, on an average, weigh 140 Kg and can go up to 800 Kg. The most common Blue Marlins weigh about 180-220 Kg. The nearest cousins of the Blue Marlin, the White Marlin and the Sailfish are also attractive catches. However, they are much smaller than the Blue Marlin and average 18 Kg. Brightly coloured artificial lures are the most effective baits for Marlins.

Apart from the fish mentioned above, the other popular fish for offshore fishing are Amberjack, Barracuda, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Little Tunny, Crevalle Jack and Bottom Fish like Sea Bass, Porgies, Snappers and Reef Fish.
